Hi, I'm Matt!
I'm a licensed creative arts therapist and board-certified music therapist in Haverstraw, NY.
I provide therapeutic music for your stressed-out dog in Rockland and Westchester counties!
Really?
Yes, really!
Music has the power to calm nervous dogs down. I know this first of all from personal experience because my adorable, neurotic rescue named Oliver (pictured with me above) curls up at my feet anytime I play the guitar or piano.
I also use the principles of music therapy — rhythm, tone, pacing, and emotional attunement — to help dogs regulate stress, reduce anxiety, and feel more at ease. By observing each dog’s body language and responses, I can tailor music and sound environments to support relaxation, trust, and nervous system balance.
But how?
By playing and singing music live, of course! I have been a professional musician for 30 years and a music therapist for three years. I love to play and sing, and I love dogs, so combining the two was a no-brainer for me. I also have specially curated playlists with classical, reggae and soft rock for doggy de-stress, too! If you and your dog work with me, we will find out what music your dog likes best!
For how long?
I know that your dog leads a very busy and important life, so our sessions are 30 minutes.
And where is this?
I come to you! Since my dog Oliver will want to play nonstop with your dog at my house, it is best if I come to you. Rates begin at $85 per session depending on your distance from Haverstraw.
My guy, but does this work?
Listen, I wish I could cure dogs (and people) of anxiety, but music is a proven tool to lessen
anxiety in dogs.
